Our Impact

When everyone has access to health care, the whole community thrives.

For individual patients, VIM cares for their health and provides a path to a safe and healthy life.

For patient families, VIM makes sure they have access to social services like safe housing, food security, childcare, and reliable income.

For businesses, VIM keeps hundreds of employees healthy and flourishing, out of the hospital and able to work.

For our community, VIM helps a diverse population integrate with everything the Berkshires has to offer, from employment to education to cultural institutions.

For the greater health care system, VIM prevents patient hospitalization and provides a model for culturally-attuned, whole-person care.

Our broad definition of health care allows us the flexibility to address whichever needs are most pressing at any moment, and our culturally-attuned model ensures we are in touch with patient needs and that they trust our care.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we never closed our doors, and we quickly shifted our resources so that patients could stay safe. We paid rent, we found temporary housing for infected people to quarantine, and we provided stipends so that people could stay home and care for their families. Because they were able to stay healthy, our patients could keep working throughout the pandemic, helping to keep our community and economy running.
