VIM’s Expansion and Sustainability Campaign
In a changing world and climate, more and more patients need the services only ViM provides.
For twenty years, ViM has had a transformational impact on our patients, our community, and the future of health care—and every year the need grows. That’s why we launched the CareWorks Campaign, a $10 million initiative to expand and sustain our services.
Three Essential Priorities
Mission accomplished! Thanks to our generous donors, we raised over half of our campaign goal and opened our Pittsfield Care Center in May 2024!
Located at 199 South Street, our Pittsfield Care Center reduces the financial and logistical travel barriers for our Pittsfield patients (more than half of whom now live in Pittsfield) as well as increases access for Berkshire County residents farther north. We are building the same comprehensive care as we have at our Great Barrington center while working with central Berkshire nonprofits and services to adapt to the specific needs of a Pittsfield population.
1. Open a Care Center in Pittsfield
2. Expand our Services in Great Barrington
To continue to function effectively, our Great Barrington Care Center needs smart, strategic renovations, including a modest addition. These updates will give our patients, volunteers, and staff the high-functioning workspace they need. The expansion also includes increased space for our essential Community Health Worker program and leading-edge initiatives such as our developing medical-legal partnership program.
3. Fund Our Work for Years to Come
For two decades, we’ve been careful financial stewards. Now we’re creating a fund that will serve as an ongoing source of support—the kind that keeps the most effective nonprofits stable and sustainable. This funding will allow us to maintain the high quality of our services and respond to the growing needs of our patients and the Berkshire community.
Ensuring financial stability for the future gives us the freedom to be flexible and to develop timely, responsive initiatives. Past examples include the expansion of women’s health care in response to the changing political landscape, and a robust Covid-19 response that successfully prevented 100% of patient hospitalizations, fatalities, and evictions.
