Jeffrey Bliss, MSW, Appointed Development Director

The Board of Trustees of Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) Berkshires is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Bliss, MSW to the position of Development Director.  In this new full-time role, Bliss will be responsible for all clinic fundraising activities for current operations and future growth as VIM Berkshires enters its second decade.

“We are very pleased to have Jeff joining our team at VIM,” said Board Chair Arthur Peisner. “Jeff’s deep experience in fund-raising, community outreach and communications will be of great benefit to us as we continue to grow in our second decade of service to uninsured adults in the Berkshires.  As a privately funded agency, we are completely dependent upon the generosity of our donors and Jeff’s role will be central to increasing that support.”

For the past eleven years, Bliss worked as the Director of Development, Marketing and Admissions at Windhorse Integrated Mental Health in Northampton, a non-profit mental health agency. Prior to joining Windhorse, Jeff was a Senior Program Manager at Lincoln Center Institute for ten years.  He also founded his own company, Trillium Research, focused on qualitative market research for a broad variety of corporate and public interest companies.

“I am excited about this new opportunity to help VIM grow and thrive,” said Bliss.  “VIM’s mission to provide high quality, integrated health care to adults without health insurance is inspiring. I’m looking forward to working with the Board of Trustees as well as with the many volunteers and donors who have helped VIM become an invaluable community resource.”

Jeffrey Bliss earned a BS degree in Zoology from the University of Maryland and a Masters Degree in Group Social Work from Hunter College for Social Work. Jeff, his wife and two teen-age daughters live in Williamsburg, MA.
